Zines

Zines have became a way of collecting all of the research that has gone into some of the work I have done. I have also treated zine as documented peaks in time where I had certain clarity in my conceptual theories.

A Life Is A Life, 2019.

Paired with the installation currently traveling the United States with the American Roulette Exhibit.

Entropy = Balance, 2018. Zine paired with solo exhibit Time Influential and the same text as the voiceover in the video.

My Face As Metaphor, 2016.

I wrecked my bicycle and my face November 8, 2016 in Chicago the day before Trump was elected president. I rode the bus to work November 10th, which was eerily silent. Absolutely no one asked what happened to my face, not even my students, until one always tardy and not very subtle student did. I appreciated his innocent curiosity. What did everyone else - on the bus, walking in River North, at work - assume happened to me?

Compression in Interpretation, 2016

Paired with laser cut stills of audio waves.

Take A Deep Breath, 2012.

Paired with my MFA thesis. (I wanted to turn this in as my dissertation but not all of my advisors would allow it. Ha.)

A Zine, 2011.

A zine of my values.

Memory Processed, 2010.

A flipbook.

The Chapters, 2008.

Some formulaic processes explained.

Zine #2, 2007.

A zine about my first real heartbreak.

Michelle Graves, 2006.

Zine #1

I search for conclusions in the unknown - a calm within the chaos.
