In 2010 my Grandmother passed away from Alzheimer's Disease. Before her death, I visited her once per month to help with 24-hour care taking. I recorded this interaction during one of my visits as an experiment in interaction with associative words. The words used were "this is my home" pulled from my grandmothers nightly confusion of where she was, "Pauline" her name, "I love to dance" an activity that my grandmother absolutely loved, and "unconditional" a concept I was deeply exploring at the time. This video was then used in an installation representing the silent chaos of memory loss and amazing capability of triggering memories through association.
